One of the top manufacturers of marine engines and marine engine parts is Detroit Diesel. These two-cycle engines deliver strong output while having a casting that is relatively smaller. Detroit Diesel marine engines are commonplace on the waterways due to their interchangeable parts.
Commercial ships and leisure crafts, including yachts, frequently choose Detroit Diesel marine engines and marine diesel systems. These engines are strong yet widespread and frequently inexpensive to maintain and repair.
MTU
With a century of experience powering the most advanced yachts and the most powerful tugboats, MTU has established standards for marine engines. Our experience as a system supplier extends beyond providing top-notch engines. Engines, gearboxes, auxiliary power units, and automation systems are all combined into one integrated system that we offer.
You'll be able to tell that your boat is being propelled by an engine that is not only very strong and small, but also economical and efficient with fuel. Extremely quiet and smooth sailing is made possible by an engine that exhibits minimum vibrations and emissions. Additionally, you'll gain from hybrid and marine diesel engines that increase power production while maintaining the vessel's user-friendliness and safety.
Series 2000 "Common Rail"

The new Series 2000 CR engines have rounded edges without sacrificing ease of upkeep or the ability to install auxiliary components. With the right gearing, it is possible to use the new engine in place of the old engine without making any additional modifications to the boat's structure thanks to the design of the interfaces on the engine and the "footprint."
The new Detroit Diesel marine engines only have one exhaust gas outlet instead of two, making exhaust gas removal simpler than before. The cooler, filter, and fuel lines are housed on the service block on the free engine side, which is a configuration that has been carried over from the current series. The upgraded electronics facilitate service by allowing optional remote access to engine data via an internet connection, simplifying fleet administration.
The 2000 CR engines were created specifically as maritime engines. This sets them apart from the 2000 series engines that came before them, which were adapted from industrial engines and tailored for marine use. Additionally, the 2000 CR series has much greater power than its predecessor and incorporates cutting-edge technologies. The M03 Series, which provides 8-, 10-, 12-, and 16-cylinder variants and caused waves in the market with 2,400 hp, launched the Series in 2006.
The new 10-V 2000 CR offers the same power as the 12-V 2000 Series engine that was previously available on the market thanks to an increase in the power density of the 2000 CR engines. This results in a 20% boost in power. The new 10-cylinder engine is also a third smaller and only carries 80% of the weight of the outgoing 12-cylinder variant.
The 8V2000M93, rated at 1,200 hp, the 10V2000M93, rated at 1,500 hp, the 12V2000M93, rated at 1,800 hp, and the 16V2000M93, rated at 2,400 hp are the configurations available for the M03 Series. All M03 Series engines have a 2,450 rpm maximum speed.
The Series 2000 M04 engine was introduced a few years later because the market still required more power. The engine is available in four different versions, each rated at 2,450 rpm and producing 1,280 horsepower (8V2000M94), 1,600 horsepower (10V2000M94), 1,920 horsepower (12V2000M94), and 2,600 horsepower (16V2000M94).
The power outputs of 1,280, 1,600, 1,920, and 2,600 hp are covered by four variations (8-, 10-, 12-, and 16-V engines) (995, 1193, 1432, 1939 kW, respectively). The 10-cylinder model, which fills the gap between 8 V and 12 V formerly present with the 2000 series, is a recent addition to the series.
The engines offer class-leading fuel efficiency and comply with the EPA Tier 2/Euro 2 emission criteria thanks to low emission levels and fuel consumption.
Series 2000 M06 Platform
The introduction of the Series 2000 CR engine in 2014 was sparked in large part by the need for MTU to comply with international emissions rules. A power plant with a high power-to-weight ratio, no transitory smoke, strong torque, exceptional performance, and low ownership costs was required. The outcome was the M06 family of 10-, 12-, and 16-V engine types.
ADDA specializes in combining this platform into a single fully developed package that can be purchased and supported from a single provider and includes engines, transmissions, and a control/monitoring system.
Series 4000

The Series 4000 CR engines are small, light, and very efficient. With a horsepower range of 1,140 to 5,765 hp, this 4-liter-per-cylinder engine is suitable for both commercial and recreational use (rated between 1,800 and 2,100 rpm). Depending on the application, the Series 4000 CR engines come in 8-, 12-, 16-, and 20-V variants.
TBOs (time before overhaul) of 30,000 hours or more are possible in commercial applications thanks to the Series 4000's design. The Series 4000 has a 4-liter-per-cylinder displacement and some of the lowest industry fuel consumption figures thanks to common rail fuel injection. You can save money on engine-room ventilation since the heat rejection to the engine room is restricted to 40 kW.
The engine's maintenance has received special attention because it can be largely rebuilt there rather than being transported back to the service facilities, reducing downtime and costs.
